What is the Main Street Crit?
Main Street Crit is a criterium style 8K (4.97 miles) running race on a 1K loop.
We will have three races:
- 7:00 PM – FREE Kids Fun Run – 1K – Kids under 12
- 7:30 PM – $34 Amateur/Open Race – 8K – Men & Women
- 9:00 PM – $34 Elite 8K – Men & Women (Qualifying times are here)

Runners, spectators, children, family, friends – anyone who wants to have a lively and thriving Main Street in Columbia!
We will have live music, Santa Claus, a FREE kids fun run, art exhibitions, and some exciting races to watch!

The Main Street Crit is more than just a race – it offers something for everyone. It is a unique, signature event that brings the community together to promote our capital city, the revitalization of Main Street, and Let’s Move, Columbia. Imagine Columbia’s Main Street lined with fans as the best of America’s runners race under the street lights of downtown – at night.
For Main Street, by Main Street
Since this race is eight laps around two blocks, it will make for a great spectator event. The businesses, restaurants, and other downtown operations will benefit from all the downtown activity.
“Main Street” is not just a thoroughfare of Downtown Columbia. It is a symbol of our city. Our Main Street represents all that is Columbia. We are all residents of Main Street. Main Street Crit is non-profit corporation, started to promote Let’s Move, Columbia, and organization with the mission of ending childhood obesity. Let’s Move, Columbia supports the health and wellness of everyone living, playing, and working in Columbia, South Carolina.
